About the Role

We are looking for a Analytics Engineering Manager who can help extract, transform and organize data that can be used to drive insights for the integrated marketing programs we create, execute, and manage for our enterprise technology customers. We are looking for someone who understands data engineering best practices and can derive insights from digital data. In this role, you would be designing data flows from the ground up to extract, enrich, and analyze data. Our ultimate goal is to build a story that describes the customer and campaign experience. You would be part of digital marketing project teams that use data to create insights and make strategic recommendations via monthly and quarterly presentations to our customers. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, dreams in ETL, knows simple beats unnecessary complexity, and can lead a team to deliver analysis that drives business decisions.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a cross functional data, analytics, and engineering team
  • Build and maintain a secure data warehouse
  • Build and maintain data pipelines to automate data transfer
  • Lead your team in building ETL pipelines in a cloud environment
  • Partner with our enterprise clients to understand their business and where our data analytics products and services can add additional value
  • Create reporting products to empower our enterprise clients to be more data driven
  • Build and maintain dashboards and presentations for marketing programs that highlight performance on key metrics and insights for optimizations
  • Build and maintain a system of documentation for mission critical reports and dashboards.
  • Leverage data to identify ways to grow revenue, customer engagement, and conversion
  • Train internal and external stakeholders on data best practices to improve data culture

What you need

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics or engineering (or a combination of the two)
  • 4+ years experience with cloud-based ETL and DW platforms including Alteryx, AWS Redshift, and Fivetran
  • 3+ years experience with data visualization software including Tableau, Power BI, Looker or similar
  • 2+ years in a people management role
  • Proficient with at least one statistical software package (e.g. R, MatLab, or NumPy, SciPy, Pandas)
  • Excel power user
  • Proficient with web analytics tools (e.g. Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics)
  • Proficient with APIs to pull and aggregate data
  • Strong understanding of data engineering best practices, including version control, automation, documentation, etc.

What we prefer

  • B.S. or M.S. degree in marketing, mathematics, statistics, computer science, or engineering
  • Experience in strategy consulting, digital marketing, decision support, or related field
  • Structured, organized, and detail-oriented with the ability to validate/triangulate data and derive insights
  • Ability to tell the story and deliver key takeaways based on data and analysis
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects under defined timelines
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing key performance metrics
  • Experience with using statistical models to predict efficacy across demand generation strategies
  • Experience with Marketing Automation, CRM, and Digital data sets
